The trip takes about 3 to 4 hours. You start at the cable car Ruedesheim with the impressive ride to Germania Monument which takes 15 minutes. From the you proceed the easy walking hiking trail (see map www.seilbahn-ruedesheim.de/images/wanderkarte_gr.gif ) The trail has a lot of view points and takes 45 minutes (very slow walking) to the Jagdschloss, which is a restaurant. Behind this location the chairlift which is included in the tourticket brings You down within 15 minutes to Assmannshausen the “redwine village” From the chairliftstation you proceed (10 minutes walking) to the Rhine River to bridge number 3 owned by Bingen - Rüdesheimer Cruise Line. From there the vessel takes You (the cruise is also included in the tourticket) within 45 minutes in a beautiful cruise (Castle Ehrenfels, Maeuseturm, Binger Loch) back to Ruedesheim where You have started the tour. The Cruises are from April to September daily at 12.45, 14.45, 16.00 an 18.00 Hour and in October daily at 12.45, 16.00 and 18.00 hours Please note that ships could be delayed up to 30 minutes (depends on the water level of Rhine River)

At 16.15 you should be back at the riverside to catch the boat back to Rüdesheim were the tour ends with your arrive at 17.20 o´clock. Romantic moonlight cruises
A truly exceptional experience awaits visitors at selected summer evenings: To 23.00 clock (in September to 22.00 clock) the cable car runs to the Niederwald Monument and back. From the mountain station, it goes for a romantic stroll to the Niederwald monument with a beautiful view of the sparkling in the moonlight Rhine, the lights of the adjacent towns and villages and the Rhine to the horizon, where a bright light gives an idea of the metropolis. At the end of the night it is wonderful, with a gentle ride to the valley.
History
Niederwald monument and lift - a story in itself in the years 1877-1883 was built the Niederwald monument with the "Germania". The 38-meter-high monument is a reminder of the french-german War of 1870/71 and the re-establishment of the German Empire. The monument was the basis for the modern tourism. In order to meet the many visitors who wanted to visit the monument, just, they built a rack railway that transported from 1884, as a precursor of today's cable car, visitors through the vineyards to the monument. 1954 replaced the cable car the railway. In the 50th anniversary year 2004, the 30 millionth passenger was counted. Since 2005, visitors hover with the new railway in larger and more comfortable cabins to the Niederwald monument.

Aus Richtung Koblenz oder Wiesbaden folgen Sie der B42 am Rhein entlang in Richtung Rüdesheim. In Rüdesheim folgen Sie dem Besucherleitsystem (Nr. 301). Ein großer Parkplatz ist in etwa 500 m Entfernung vorhanden.
