Opening times & toll
The toll road is usually open from early June to late October 7 to 20 clock for passenger transport. The Austrian side is fully suitable for all vehicles. On the Italian side, listed below Restrictions for car, truck and bus operations apply.

The road is a toll road:

• Motorcycle: one way € 12; Return ticket: € 14
• Car one way: € 14; Return ticket: 18 € (data as of 05-2014)

The southern Italian street is still used freely. Who spent on the passport must pay nothing. The toll station is located between Hochgurgl and pass on Austrian territory. If you drive over paying the way for the Italian road section automatically (on the south ramp has currently waived nor the toll station).

Car
The close Italian Südauffahrt is for cars, campers, vans and trucks up to a total weight of max. 8.0t, a width of max. 2.55 meters and a height of max. 4.00 meters passable. Buses, Trucks> 8.0t and any vehicles with trailers (including campers teams) must not pass this site.

Motorcycle
The Austrian side is very well developed and in very good condition. The Italian side is much narrower, confusing and bumpy. Attention in the tunnels, they are unlit and partially lurking here even in summer nor ice sheets.

Bicycle
For cyclists Timmelsjoch is popular because of its long, continuous gradient as a sporting challenge for road cyclists. With nearly 1800 meters, spread over about 30 km long section of St. Leonhard to the pass, the slope is considered one of the largest continuous slopes of the Alps.

For touring cyclists, mostly looking for safe ways away from the traffic, the pass road is actually not recommended due to heavy traffic.

For cyclists who want to cross the Alps, the westernmost Reschenpass (almost 1000 m lower) is the better alternative.

Who still wants to go to the Timmelsjoch, should choose the North -Südrichtung as the road is much better developed from the Austrian side than in Italy. The slopes on the north ramp in the Oetztal are more evenly distributed. From the south, the road is very narrow and has several (sometimes longer) unlit tunnel.

• Web, Hochgurgl. A bridge that opens up completely new, breathtaking views, information about the landscape and its peculiarities.
• Smugglers, Timmelsbachbrücke. A cube that takes you into the exciting world of smuggling over the Timmelsjoch.
• Pass Museum, Timmelsjoch. An "ice cave" which pays tribute to the pioneers of the High Alpine Road and their remarkable performance tribute inside.
• Telescope, Scheib head. A telescope the views of garnet mountain (3,304 m) and the High First (3,403 m), which protrude significantly from the eternal glacier ice, focused.
• Garnet, moss in the passport eggs. Two grenade, modeled on the geological rock formations of the pass Ovarian serve as a showroom and viewing platform.
